Our children aren’t fodder for the economic machine (23)

In ancient times, idols were created to false gods and great sacrifices were needed to appease their terror. One such false god was called Moloch who was fashioned like a demon with a bulls head, outstretched arms with a ferocious appetite for our most vulnerable.

In a new world bent on more, more, more, the Industrial Age and Digital Revolution are as ferocious as ever.

Don’t underestimate the power of the economic machine who thirsts for more and is never quenched.

We have evolved from a rural world to centralised centres of commerce. Like Moloch of old, he calls out to us to give up our young to feed the beast.

Families are displaced around the world as we seek financial security at all costs. In the western world we do this right under our very noses as we turn our noses down on simple village living as though they are under developed in what really matters.

What are we willing to give up for the elusive dream of satisfying false gods.

How has the classroom replaced families from raising their own children?

What’s the alternative?

Slow down and ask the question, what really matters?

Once we answer this question in it’s various forms, we won’t be so quick to give up our children to MOLOCH or the like.

Jesus poses the following question to every person on the planet. What price do you place on your soul? If it does have a price, false gods will offer you their lie to give it up and they leave you wanting. If you understand that a great sacrifice was paid for your soul, you wouldn’t be so quick to give it away for economic satisfaction.

Money then becomes a means to an end not the end itself. Money becomes a tool and not an object of false worship.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Take time out to declutter the mind and be open to a new way of thinking and living. Our next generation needs more mentors, leaders and examples of a life worth living beyond feeding the economic beast.

Take time out to smell the roses 🌹 and rediscover riches beyond measure.
